All About MediaTek Dimensity 7050 Official: We Already Know It

MediaTek presented the new Dimensity 7050, a chip intended for mid-range smartphones and with specifications identical to those of the Dimensity 1080

MediaTek has officially presented its new SoC MediaTek Dimensity 7050, intended for mid-range smartphones, which is familiar. It is, in fact, the same project as the Dimensity 1080 presented last October and used, among others, also on the Samsung Galaxy A34 and the Redmi Note 12 Pro.

An intermediate processor is a rebrand of the Dimension 1080 without any technical modifications. Also, for this reason, the company presented it almost quietly, avoiding events with great pomp and opting for a more sober inclusion on the official website, within the section dedicated to its SoCs for 5G smartphones, i.e., those of the line ” Dimensity ” (the ” Helio ” are 4G chips).

MediaTek Dimensity 7050: Datasheet

The MediaTek Dimensity 7050 is made with TSMC’s 6-nanometer manufacturing process. It has two Cortex-A78 cores at 2.6 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores at 2 GHz. The GPU is an Arm Mali-G68 MC4, the APU a MediaTek 550, and the AI Accelerator is the MediaTek APU 3.0.

This processor supports LPDDR5 RAMs with speeds up to 6,400 Mbps and UFS 3.1 standard storage memories. For connectivity, 5G, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 connections, and all the classic satellite connections for geolocation with dual-band GPS, BeiDou, Glonass, Galileo, QZSS, and NavIC are guaranteed.

The Dimensity 7050 integrates MediaTek MiraVision technology for video playback enhancement and supports screen resolutions up to Full HD+ at 120Hz or 4K @60fps. Also available is the proprietary Intelligent Refresh Rate Display technology, which adjusts the refresh rate of the display based on the frame rate detected during gaming sessions, ensuring the user a fluid and dynamic visual experience.
Finally, as regards the cameras, the new MediaTek chip supports sensors up to 200 MP and video recording up to 4K at 30 fps.

MediaTek’s Dimensity 7050 is nothing more than a Dimensity 1080 with another name, and just like the Dimensity 1080, it has technical characteristics suitable for mid-range 2023 smartphones.

MediaTek Dimensity 7050, Which Will Be Used

Currently, the only official information on future uses of the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 is limited to the technical equipment of the Lava Agni 2 5G, a mid-range smartphone intended solely for the Indian market. However, with the arrival of the processor on the European or global market, there are still no specific indications, apart from the fact that it is already available, but with the old name of Dimensity 1080, on the Samsung Galaxy A34 and the Redmi Note 12 Pros.
